It offers a very high dry boiling point that exceeds 260C and is non aggressive and safe for paint, plastics surfaces, clothing and such. DOT 5 silicone will not absorb water like regular brake fluids do. Therefore the brake system must be drained 100% to prevent any water pockets remaining anywhere in the system which may cause vapor lock and total brake failure. DOT 5 silicone is not very foam resistant
